Tommy Ferdon joined Toberoff & Associates as an associate in 2023. His practice is focused on intellectual property and entertainment litigation where he advocates for screenwriters, songwriters, and other key creators. Mr. Ferdon was previously an associate at Jones Day. Mr. Ferdon brings a wide range of prior experience, having litigated cases in both federal and state court, counseled clients on M&A transactions, and provided regulatory guidance as in-house counsel to a major tech company.
With a passion for copyright law and the arts, Mr. Ferdon seized the opportunity to focus his practice at Toberoff & Associates on intellectual property matters for the firm’s major clients in the entertainment industry. Mr. Ferdon provides the firm with litigation research and writing, motion practice, case strategy, as well as music expertise for the firm’s music-related matters. Mr. Ferdon co-authored Writing About Real People, a legal guide for authors writing nonfiction works about real people, published by Authors Alliance in 2023.
Mr. Ferdon graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 2021, and received his B.A. from the University of San Francisco, with an emphasis on Performing Arts and Media Studies. Before attending Berkeley Law, he was the lead guitarist in two touring rock bands, a record producer, and music teacher.
Mr. Ferdon is a member of the State Bar of California.
